A year in the life of Woodlands - 2013 Part 2
It's time for the second part of our look back over 2013 and what an amazing year it was!

In July, Alison and Shirley started to act very shifty as they planned our top secret team day out! We were first taken to Otterspool to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine, followed by a trip to Active Adventures where we tested our teamwork skills (and our head for heights!) with some seriously tough challenges!
We had another wedding in July, this time it was Beauty Therapist Judit who married her lovely partner Jonathan :)
August was mainly a month of getting people prepped for their holidays with lots of waxing, tanning and nail painting, but we also launched Vinylux at Woodlands, a new nail polish created by the makers of Shellac, which has proved to be one of our most popular nail treatments!
October brought with it our final staff wedding of the year, this one was Woodlands Manager Shirley and her fiance Stuart! As usual, we all got dressed up to the nines and headed over to Lymm where the wedding was being held. As Shirley is Irish and all her family were coming over for the big day, we knew this was going to be A LOT of fun and we weren't disappointed! There was plenty of dancing, as well as a few surprises through the night, including Shirley and Stewart being showered in green balloons during their first dance, and Shirley slipping on a pair of sequinned Converse later in the night to allow her to do some proper Irish dancing!
Of course, October is also the month of Halloween, and with this being our first year of having a makeup artist at Woodlands, it meant that we had lots of people in for spooky transformations! Sara created some amazing looks, including these two - Marie Antoinette and Corpse Bride!
Possibly one of the biggest things that happened in 2013 was Woodlands Aigburth taking on Clarins in November. All of our beauty therapists were sent off to Manchester for a week of intensive training with the Clarins team, where they learned about the various Clarins products and treatments. Meanwhile, back at Aigburth the reception and office staff took a HUGE delivery of products and display stands and set about transforming Woodlands into a Clarins spa.
Once everything was completed and the girls were back from training, we celebrated with a launch event, where we invited our clients to come and try out our new products, as well as letting the girls show off their new Clarins knowledge!
When December came around, we were all busy bees getting everything ready for Christmas - putting up the Christmas decorations, wrapping gift sets and of course, making all of our clients beautiful for Father Christmas! That didn't stop us from taking a bit of time out for our Christmas night out though! We started the evening with a trip to a local Chinese restaurant, where we were treated to a delicious feast, as well as some hilarious games, which included a special game of pass the parcel, where each layer of wrapping paper also held a dare! After our meal, we headed off to the Echo Arena to see Mrs Brown's Boys, where we all laughed our socks off! A great way to end the year!
Well that's it for our look back over 2013 - what an amazing year it was! Let's hope that 2014 is filled with just as much fun, laughter and excitement!
